THIS DAY IN YALE HISTORY 1950 After a closed session in Woodbridge Hall, the Yale Corporation appoints Alfred Whitney Griswold ’29 GRD ’33 the 16th president of the University. While an undergraduate at Yale in the late 1920s, Griswold was one of the founders of the Yale Political Union.
