Director of Public Safety and Yale Chief of Police Ronnell Higgins notified students of a reported sexual assault in a campuswide email Monday night.
An undergraduate student was the victim of an alleged sexual assault by an acquaintance early Saturday morning. The reported incident occurred in a residential college. The Yale Police received the report Monday and has begun an investigation.
Higgins encouraged anyone with information regarding the incident to reach out to the YPD. He also reminded the Yale community that YPD will investigate all reports of sexual assault, but that there are also additional resources for victims, specifically citing the Sexual Harassment and Assault Response & Education Center, the Title IX Coordinator, the University-Wide Committee, Yale University Health Services, and victims’ advocacy services.
