The Calhoun freshman who fell from the fourth story of Bingham Hall on Monday is expected to make a full recovery.

A campus-wide email on Monday informed students that emergency personnel had responded to a 911 call on Jan. 19 which said a student had fallen from Bingham Hall, a freshman residence hall on Old Campus. The student, who remains unnamed by University officials, was admitted to Yale-New Haven Hospital, but was alert and conscious when responders arrived.

Master of Calhoun College Julia Adams emailed the Calhoun community Friday morning to inform them that the freshman was “doing well,” and is expecting a full recovery.

Adams added that she was particularly proud of the support that students had offered each other, and commended them for the care demonstrated amongst the community, particularly towards the freshmen.

“We always knew that the Calhoun community was a special and loving place, but this week has just underlined and confirmed that,” she wrote.
