New Haven Public Schools announced Monday that a new superintendent will be selected to replace current superintendent Reginald Mayo by June 20, The New Haven Independent reported.
The announcement, made by school board chair Carlos Torre, came complete with a timeline for the search process: Applications will be due June 25, the field will be narrowed to eight and 12 candidates by July 8, interviews will be conducted July 8-10, and final candidates will be brought to New Haven by July 15.
Mayo has agreed to stay on a few extra weeks after June 30, when he was originally expected to retire, as NHPS finds his successor.
