The historically low-income Hill neighborhood that is home to Yale-New Haven Hospital and the Yale Medical School is set to receive a $250-$300 million facelift.
A public meeting held last Thursday discussed a plan for the Old Coliseum site, according to The New Haven Independent. The location is currently a parking lot, but may soon become a destination complete with 524 residences, retail, landscaped streets, a hotel, offices, a fitness center and a public square. This vision for the site was pitched to the community on Thursday night by LiveWorkLearnPlay, a potential developer for the project.
The project will need to receive the approval of the city and the state, and LiveWorkLearnPlay will need to find money to start the project.
