This week, Yale will celebrate National Engineers Week for the second time with activities ranging from lectures and networking to trivia and ice cream socials.

The event, which is designed to celebrate the “positive contributions engineers make to society,” will kick off with two discussions about engineering entrepreneurship tomorrow evening at 7 p.m. with a talk by David Kohn ’11, and Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m. with a panel featuring Director of Yale Entrepreneurial Institute James Boyle.

On Wednesday evening, the Omni Hotel will host the first-ever Engineering Networking Night with representatives from companies including Sikorsky Aircraft, Texas Instruments and the Department of Defense. “Ground,” new café near the Center for Engineering Innovation and Design in the Becton Center, will house a few rounds of engineering trivia from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday evening.

The week wraps up with two events in the Center for Engineering Innovation and Design on Friday. At 2 p.m., Design for America is putting on a “Design Challenge” where teams will propose solutions to engineering problems.

And, to answer your question, yes, refreshments will be provided at all events.
