It’s snowing! The first snow of the semester hit New Haven early Wednesday morning, but the University’s emergency preparations team is staying put for now.

Maria Bouffard, director of emergency management, said the team has already touched base — as it does in all circumstances —and is prepared to clean up and salt the streets. She added that only an inch of slush is predicted and the snow is not expected to stick.

The National Weather Service is also predicting high winds and coastal flooding, with a potential danger of power outages along Connecticut’s coastline.

But rest assured, Yalies. Bouffard said Yale should not be affected by coastal flooding since none of its buildings are within that range.
