The lightweight crew team won two of four races at the EARC Sprints on Sunday in Worcester, Mass.

The Bulldogs also took home the Jope Cup for overall team performance with 34 points. Princeton and Harvard tied for second place with 29 points, marking the first time since 2002 that the Bulldogs have achieved the highest combined score at the annual rowing championship.

In the first race of the day, the 3V8+ placed fifth, behind Cornell, Harvard, Navy and Dartmouth. But Yale cleaned up in the next two races. The F8+ beat Princeton by 4.6 seconds to finish first and complete its undefeated season, while the 2V8+ finished two seconds ahead of cornell.

The fifth-seeded V8+ finished the 2000 meter course in 6:30.2, placing fourth behind Harvard, Dartmouth and Princeton. The fourth place finish sends the Blue and White to the RA National Championship in Camden, N.J., on June 2.

The EARC championship, know as the Eastern Sprints, includes boats from Ivy League schools, as well as Georgetown, Syracuse, Navy, MIT, BU, Rutgers, Northeastern, Wisconsin, George Washington University and Holy Cross.
