A trio of journalism students from the University of Regina posted a documentary about the life of women’s hockey player Mandi Schwartz ’11 to YouTube in December.

Taylor Shire, Sarah Ritchie and Christeen Jesse collaborated on a short documentary called “Mandi’s Army,” which combines interviews of her parents and friends with footage of Schwartz’s life, from her childhood to adolescence. Schwartz, who hailed from Wilcox, Saskatchewan, died on April 3, 2011 after a 27-month battle with acute myeloid leukaemia. She was 23.
