In his first season as the full-time starter for the men’s hockey team, goaltender Jeff Malcolm ’13 is off to a hot start.

After shutting out RPI and No. 13 Union last weekend, Malcolm was named ECAC Goalie of the Week. The junior netminder stopped all 72 shots he faced, including a career-high 45 against Union. The Engineers and Dutchmen combined for 13 power play opportunities but could not put the puck behind Malcolm.

Malcolm also tied a Yale record, set by Ryan Rondeau ’11 last year, with three consecutive shutouts, dating back two weeks to a 2–0 victory over No. 17 Colgate. Malcolm’s 1.33 goals allowed average ranks second in the nation while his .960 save percentage leads all Division I goalies.

The Bulldogs are currently ranked ninth in the country.
