  • The football team won’t be the only Yale sports team to take the field against archrival Harvard this weekend. This Friday, three Yale intramural teams will faceoff against their Crimson counterparts as part of the annual Harkness Cup Games. The Harkness Cup Games is an intramural competition between Yale and Harvard that began in the fall of 1935 and is still followed today.
  • The recent closure of CT Rock Gym left Yale’s Club Climbing Team and other climbers in the New Haven community without a convenient place to practice. CT Rock Gym, located about one mile from central campus, announced that it “closed indefinitely” Monday amidst rumors of financial troubles. Yale climbers have continued their training this week at Carabiner’s, another climbing gym in Fairfield, CT., but uncertainty over the CT Rock Gym’s future has left the team searching for a long-term solution.
  • After clashes occurred with Harvard’s licensing office, famed Harvard dropouts Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg and Matt Damon no longer “like” this year’s Freshman Class Council Harvard-Yale shirt. The earliest designs for Harvard-Yale shirts released by the FCC in early November conflicted with Harvard’s “Use-of-Name” policies, which specify in what context the university’s trademarks may be used. Over the course of the last two weeks, the council consulted with the Yale College Dean’s Office, the Yale University Licensing Program and the Harvard Trademark Program about revising the designs to conform with regulations. The final design was approved Monday, and shirts went on sale for $12 apiece Wednesday night.
