After an unsuccessful bid to for Senate last year against U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal LAW ’73, Linda McMahon is at it again. And despite a pledge to rely less on her personal fortune, her first fundraising report of the year shows that she’s already contributed over $600,000 of her own money.

A report on McMahon’s campaign expenses that was released Oct. 14 reveals that McMahon, the former executive of World Wrestling Entertainment, has already contributed over $600,000 of her own money to kick start her campaign, and received only $1,400 in contributions in the third quarter. McMahon donated over $50 million to her own campaign in 2010.

Polls show that McMahon is in the lead over U.S. Rep. Chris Shays to win the Republican nomination to contend for the seat U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman ’64 LAW ’67 will vacate in January.
