This Thursday at 7 p.m., the Yale Women’s Basketball team will compete at home against the Boston College Eagles in the first round of the WNIT (Women’s National Invitation Tournament). The Bulldogs tied for second-place with Harvard in the Ivy League this year, earning the WNIT bid because of their first regular season sweep of the Crimson since the 1993-94 season. The post-season appearance is Yale’s first since 1979 — during the glory days of Connecticut Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame Coach Louise O’Neal. For those Yalies who will be around New Haven on Thursday, don’t miss out on your last chance to see the 2010-2011 Bulldogs play at the John J. Lee Ampitheater in Payne Whitney Gym. Remember, heckling is easy and effective at Yale basketball games.
Tickets for the game are available at the Ray Tompkins House, next to the Gym, at a price of $4 for students and $5 for general admission. Contact the Yale Ticket Office for more information at 203-432-1402.
