Emma Watson, who plays the bookish Hermione Granger in the “Harry Potter” films, announced on her website Tuesday that she will be taking a break from her studies at Brown University to focus on her acting career. In a message to her fans, Watson wrote:

As you know, I love Brown and I love studying pretty much more than anything but recently I’ve had so much to juggle that being a student AND fulfilling my other commitments has become a little impossible.

But Watson did stress that she plans on returning to school after all the Harry Potter madness has cooled down to earn her degree in (Muggle) literature—“it’s just going to take [her] a semester or two longer than [she] thought.”

Because we all know what’s a fate worse than death for Hermione: expulsion.
