“The deficit is too damn high.” The Student Initiative to Draft Daniels released a new advertisement on YouTube Wednesday starring Jimmy McMillan, who rose to fame as the “Rent is Too Damn High” guy during his 2010 bid for New York governor. In the video, Michael Knowles ’12 and Courtney Pannell ’11 meet with McMillan to find a slogan to encourage Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels to run for president.

The ad will air on a Fox affiliate in Washington, D.C., Monday, said Max Eden ’11, the national director of the group.

Closing doors. Harvard’s class of 2015, like Yale’s, will likely not be larger than its class of 2014, the Harvard Crimson reported. Dean of Undergraduate Admissions Jeffrey Brenzel told the News in a January e-mail that Yale expects to admit slightly over 2,000 students, about the same amount as last year.

Johannes Somary ’57 MUS ’59, an orchestral conductor who specialized in “neglected choral masterpieces,” died Feb. 1 in the Bronx due to complications from a stroke, the New York Times reported. He was 75.

The U.S. Department of Labor found that, of those born between 1980-1984, almost 1 in 4 women attained bachelor’s degrees by the age of 23, while only 1 in 7 men did, the Wall Street Journal reported.
