Alan Slifka ’51, who founded the Slifka Center for Jewish Life at Yale in 1995, died Feb. 4, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency reported Monday.

“Glee” overload. In May, the Yale Glee Club will perform at a benefit concert for anti-bullying charities with the cast of the hit television series “Glee,” in addition to members of the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus.

Akhil Reed Amar ’80 LAW ’84 wrote a column in the Los Angeles Times Sunday in opposition to the Florida judge who ruled “Obamacare” unconstitutional. Reading the decision after grading papers from his Yale Law School constitutional law class, he concluded: “My students understand the Constitution better than the judge.”

Rumpus, Yale’s tabloid, is uploading photos of candidates for its yearly list of the “50 Most Beautiful” Yalies to its Facebook page. Students vote by “liking” photos and the ones with the most votes will be included in the issue, according to Rumpus’ Facebook. Yale College Dean Mary Miller had 583 votes as of press time.
