So snow is falling again, and the winter storm watch from yesterday — which told us to be on our guard between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning — changed to a winter storm warning effective 10 a.m. Wednesday through 6 a.m. Thursday.

The National Weather Service predicts 6 to 9 inches just in case you thought those piles on the side of the streets couldn’t get any higher.

UPDATE: 11:33 a.m.

Mayor John DeStefano Jr. is calling this a “snow emergency,” according to a press release issued by City Hall spokeswoman Jessica Mayorga. If you happen to be driving, there is a downtown parking ban, and throughout the city you are only allowed to park on the even side of the street.
