New Haven residents just got a new way to become politically involved — online.
The city added a new feature to its website, called “TAKE ACTION,” which gives residents a summary of the mayor’s agenda at the state and local level, encouraging them to “get engaged” and lobby elected officials, according to a press release from City Hall spokeswoman Jessica Mayorga.
“The concept promotes residents becoming educated about the concerns of City government and the needs of residents and businesses who call New Haven home,” Mayor John DeStefano Jr. said in the press release. “We want residents to know what we’re all up against and we want to help their voices be heard by decision-makers at the State and local level. This tool helps to organize residents around critical issues that impact daily live in our City.”
A form on the website allows visitors to indicate their interests and “sign up for opportunities.”
