Five Columbia University students were arrested today on the school’s New York City campus as part of a major sting operation, known as Operation Ivy League among investigators, the New York Times’ City Room blog reported. Through Operation Ivy League, investigators purchased almost $11,000 in drugs ranging from marijuana to LSD since July, the report stated.

The bulk of the drug sales took place in the fraternities Alpha Epsilon Pi, Pi Kappa Alpha and Psi Upsilon, while other transactions were held in private rooms in the Intercultural House and in East Campus Housing.
