All-American runner Kate Grace ’11 just earned another honor — the inaugural HepsTrack.com female athlete of the week. Grace shared the title with Brynn Smith of Brown after Grace left the competition in the dust in both the 800-meter and 1,000-meter runs at the Lidlifter Invitation at Yale’s Coxe Cage on Dec. 4th.

She ran the 1,000-meter in 2:55.53, a second less than her personal best and almost 20 seconds faster than the second-place finisher, Christine Cristobal of Manhattan College. Less than an hour later, Grace stormed back onto the track and took the 800-meter with a time of 2:14.99, nearly four seconds ahead of Marist College’s Jackie Gamboli. Grace finished the day by running in the 4×400-meter relay, which took second place behind Manhattan College.

The Lidlifter Invitational is the first competition of the year for Grace and the women’s track and field team, which will compete in the College Invitational at Yale on Jan. 15th.
