The National University of Singapore reports that it has had multiple copies of the book “The Political Economy of Social Control in Singapore” in its library for years, and that it has been an assigned text in classes. NUS also reports that copies of the book are available in the National Library, the Nanyang Technological University Library, the National Institute of Education Library and the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies Library. An online search of these libraries’ directories readily confirms the book’s availability.

We are not privy to the details of any individual employment decisions made at NUS, but know of numerous examples of continuing faculty at NUS whose work has been critical of a wide range of governmental policies in Singapore.
