Four New Haven firetrucks responded to a call at Rudolph Hall around 3:45 Wednesday afternoon.

The New Haven Fire Department vehicles left the scene within 15 minutes after discovering that the call was a false alarm, said one officer on the scene. He added that the call resulted from someone in the building smelling smoke.
Traffic on York street was back to normal by 3:55.
