Firefighters and police were called to York Street late Thursday night after a motorcycle burst into flames outside of the Hall of Graduate Studies.

According to a witness, the owner of the motorcycle was revving the engine of his bike in the middle of the intersection of York and Wall streets, in the midst of a crowd of onlookers, when the engine of the vehicle caught on fire. People, including the owner, quickly backed away from the motorcycle as the fire spread and consumed the bike in flames about seven feet high.

Firefighters and police arrived on the scene within five minutes and put out the fire. There were no injuries caused by the accident.
