Tired of chasing The Cupcake Truck around to get a sweet treat?
You’re in luck. The owners of New Haven’s popular Cupcake Truck posted on their blog Tuesday that they are “hard at work on our very first retail store which will open sometime in late June.”
The truck, run by Marsha and Todd Rowe, will still be in operation when the store opens, according to the blog, which says further details are yet to come.
In other news, the truck will be on York Street on Wednesday.
UPDATE: Thursday, May 6, 3:35 p.m. In an interview, Todd Rowe said the “sister store” will be called Toppings à la carte cupcakes and will be located in Bridgeport, Conn. While the store will have a “focus on cupcakes,” it will also allow him and his wife an opportunity to bake other kinds of sweets, he said.
And lest Yalies fear the hike to Bridgeport, the Rowes aren’t ruling out the Elm City as a possible place for another storefront in the future.
“We totally have New Haven in mind,” Rowe said.
