M. BASEBALL | The baseball team said it was going to be better than it was last season. So far, the Bulldogs’ results show that they may be right.

The Elis are currently 3-0 after a three-game sweep at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Yale defeated the Retrievers 7-3 and 11-3 on Sunday before winning 10-4 on Monday.

Last year Yale started 0-2, including a 15-2 loss to UMBC.

Right fielder Andrew Kolmar ’11 earned co-Player of the Week in the Ivy League after going 5-for-11 with four RBIs in the three games.

Pitcher Brook Hart ’11 made his collegiate debut when he started opening day, allowing one earned run in five innings.

Hart started four games this year as Yale’s quarterback but decided to make the transition to baseball this spring.

The Elis will spend the rest of the week in Florida at the RussMatt Invitational, which begins today.
