W. BASKETBALL | The women’s basketball team went out on top.

In their final game of the season, the Bulldogs (13-15, 8-6 Ivy) had one of their best performances of the season, defeating the Cornell Big Red (7-20, 2-12) 74-60 in Ithaca, N.Y.

With the victory, Yale finishes the season with its best Ivy record in 12 years at 8-6, placing the Bulldogs fourth in the Ivy League.

Forward Melissa Colborne ’10 led the Bulldogs in the final game of her Yale career, scoring 20 points to put her over 1,400 points for her career, making her fifth on the Yale all-time scoring list. Colborne is Yale’s all-time leader in games played (111).

Forward Haywood Wright ’10 blocked a shot to finish tied for second on the all-time blocks list with 109 career rejections.

The contest marked the final game in the careers of Colborne, Wright and guard Ashley Carter ’10, who came to a Yale team coming off a 3-24 season and leave a Yale team that is finally competitive with the upper tier of Ivy League teams.
