A man killed his wife and then committed suicide in West Haven on Sunday, according to police. The day before, the man had been arrested for domestic violence but was released after posting a $25,000 bond. Police charged Selami Ozdemir, 42, on Saturday with violating a protective order, third-degree assault, risk of injury and disorderly conduct. Although Ozdemir was taken to police headquarters, around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Ozdemir’s wife, Shengyl Rasim, 25, called the police to say that Ozdemir was trying to enter the house. But when police arrived on the scene, he was not there. After police responded to another 911 call from the house 30 minutes later, officers found the husband and wife dead from gunshots. The couple had two young sons, a 6-year-old and a 7-month-old.
