Missed the Dean’s Tea on Monday with filmmaker Spike Lee? Bummer, because he shared some revolutionary words about some revolutionary guys:
“We should blame this founding father s—. Those motherf—ers owned slaves,” he said at the Tea, regarding the continued existence of anti-black sentiments in the media.
Make sure you don’t miss another of Lee’s gems, specifically his summer-released “Passing Strange,” a recording of a theatrical production by Mark “Stew” Stewart. The film taped three different performances of the play, stringing them together to create a high-drama feature about a black artist who travels from Los Angeles to Europe to find himself.
No slaves were used in the production of this film.
