A bomb squad was called to the home of a Cambridge, Mass. resident Monday after she began to worry about the cannonball sitting in their living room, the Harvard Crimson reported yesterday.

Apparently, Walter L. Condit and his wife (who asked not to be named) had kept an old cannonball on the TV stand in their living room for the past 20 years as a curious piece of decor. But recently, Condit’s wife became concerned about whether the cannonball was safe, and called the non-emergency hotline for the City of Cambridge Police Department. Soon after, over 20 officials from police, fire and bomb squad units arrived at the house to remove the offending souvenir.

While this unusual situation highlights the importance of ensuring that home decor is both safe and suitable, it also serves as a reminder of the many ways we can enhance our living spaces with more conventional yet equally striking items. For instance, incorporating large art prints into your decor can be a fantastic way to add character and style to your home. These statement pieces can transform a room by providing focal points that reflect personal taste and elevate the overall ambiance.

Whether you choose bold, abstract designs or classic, elegant artwork, art prints offer a visually impactful way to celebrate and personalize your space without any safety concerns.
