The men’s lacrosse team will host the annual Christian Prince ’93 Memorial Tournament this Sunday at various Yale athletic fields.

The five Connecticut Division I men’s lacrosse programs — Fairfield, Hartford, Quinnipiac, Sacred Heart and Yale — will be competing for the first annual Connecticut Cup.

The tournament honors Prince, a former Yale lacrosse player who was killed in 1991. One Bulldog player chosen by the team will wear a practice jersey with Prince’s number, 27, which has not been worn outside the tournament since 1991, while the rest of the team wears its regular game jerseys.

The Elis open up play against Quinnipiac at 12:30 p.m. at Reese Stadium and face Sacred Heart four hours later on the same field. Each team plays two games, with the top two teams meeting in the finals at 6:30 p.m. at Reese Stadium. Other games will be played at Johnson Field — the women’s field hockey team’s home field — and nearby Anthony Thompson Field.
