As University President Richard Levin explained how the leaders of Yale, University College London and both of their associated hospitals would proceed in signing the agreement for a new transatlantic health alliance at a press conference in Woodbridge Hall this afternoon, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and visiting Yale professor Tony Blair recognized that the situation seemed familiar.
“This is what we used to do with treaties, actually,” he quipped. “Just don’t sign it in the wrong place.”
The signing, which took place earlier this afternoon in Woodbridge Hall, established an international alliance for biomedical research that will facilitate the discovery of scientific advancements that may improve patient care.
