The research center at 10 Amistad St. where Annie Le GRD ’13 was last seen continues to be the center of activity for law enforcement officials investigating her disappearance.
As FBI agents repeatedly combed the corridors in the building’s basement, Deputy Secretary Martha Highsmith, who oversees campus security operations, hosted a meeting for the building’s occupants at about 2 p.m. today, updating them on the investigation and informing them of new security precautions in the facility.
In an interview after the meeting, Highsmith said the investigation is now being jointly run by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Yale Police Department, with continued assistance from the Connecticut State Police and the New Haven Police Department.
She said she does not know of any active suspects in the investigation, and added that authorities continue to look at surveillance images from the Amistad Street building and surrounding buildings. Investigators still do not know whether Le exited the building at all after she entered it at about 10 a.m. Tuesday.
