Students with early-morning Monday classes may want to roll out of bed a few minutes earlier than usual tomorrow. The 32nd annual New Haven Road Race, a 20K championship race that draws about 5,000 runners to the Elm City, will kick off at 8:40 a.m., causing periodic street closures as runners pass through.
Major streets on the race route include Elm Street between Howe and State streets, State Street between Elm and Edwards streets, Whitney Avenue between Willow and Grove streets, and Church Street from Whitney Avenue to the New Haven Green. The Yale Shuttle, which runs along some of the streets on the race route, will also see disruptions in service.
