I am writing to clarify that the column I wrote with Abby Lawlor ’11 yesterday (“Harrison has best vision,” April 2) was not an official endorsement by the Community-Based Learning or Urban Studies programs. Our experience working with Urban Studies and CBL is both relevant and valuable because it informs our understanding of New Haven politics, but we were endorsing Katie Harrison ’11 yesterday as individuals, not as representatives of the above organizations.
We came to this race out of the experiences we talked about in our column, and they continue to inform our belief that Katie is the candidate who can do the best work as alderwoman, on the board and on campus. As such, we are also involved in her campaign: I am serving as an adviser to the campaign and Abby is the policy director.
