Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz ’83 is the favored candidate for the gubernatorial Democratic primary among Connecticut voters, according to a poll released Tuesday by Quinnipiac University. Bysiewicz led the second most popular candidate, Stamford Mayor Dan Malloy, by 32 points with 44 percent saying they would vote for her. But a majority of voters prefer Gov. M. Jodi Rell above all, with 53 percent reporting they would vote for Rell over Bysiewicz in an election. Additionally, Sen. Chris Dodd (D-CT) has a negative approval rating for the first time in a Quinnipiac poll, with 51 percent of respondents saying they “probably won’t” or “definitely won’t” vote for him, against a combined 42 percent who say they “probably” or “definitely” will vote for him. —Yale Daily News
