Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal said in a press release Tuesday that an investigation by his office and the office of North Carolina Attorney General Roy Cooper identified approximately 90,000 convicted registered sex offenders on MySpace — more than twice as many as previously acknowledged. Blumenthal and Cooper subpoenaed MySpace for information about its users. Blumenthal said he plans to work with local authorities to see if the sex offenders on MySpace have violated the terms of their probation or release. Blumenthal has also subpoenaed Facebook for information and is waiting for a response.
