Guest columnist Sam Gensburg (“An English class for non-majors,” Jan. 16) makes a mistake in thinking that the study of literature is the sole preserve of the English department. I believe he will find some of what he is looking for in courses offered by the Literature major, such as Introduction to the Study of Narrative (LITR120) or World Poetry and Performance (LITR122). Likewise, many of the language departments offer courses on literature in translation which are not geared towards majors.
