Circuit City executives announced last Friday that the electronics store chain had filed for bankruptcy and will close all 567 of its American stores, including four Circuit City stores around New Haven, in the towns Milford, Trumbull, Meriden and North Haven. “The liquidators are here now,” one local store manager said. “We’ll be gone in 60 days.” The manager said she was confident that, at least in her area, the town and her employees would bounce back from economic troubles. “Everyone’s still working now, and there are still a lot of retailers in the area,” she said.
