Yale-New Haven Hospital cannot rent, but it can sure buy. In December, the hospital purchased a plot of land in the Hill neighborhood for $14.6 million from Intercontinental Real Estate Corporation, a Boston leaser, which was slated to develop the land to create mixed-use buildings and a garage. Y-NH was originally meant to be the major tenant for the development, officials said, but Y-NH spokesman Vin Petrini told the New Haven Register on Tuesday that the hospital is unable to serve as a tenant. He added that the hospital is unsure how the land will be developed.
