40 people converged on Rudy’s Bar and Grill Sunday afternoon to celebrate bartender Leo “Big Daddy” Vigue’s 75th birthday. The bar was packed with friends, family and even former Yalies who have known Vigue during his 45-year tenure at Rudy’s. Andrea Hallier ’95 came to the party to spend time with Vigue, who is practically part of her family, she said. After meeting Vigue as an undergraduate, Hallier said she formed a close friendship with the bartender, who would later give her away at her wedding. “I didn’t know anything about this party,” Vigue said. “It just goes to show that when you have good friends they always come back.”
