Hammer Jaks bar on Crown Street was raided Thursday night by New Haven police officers and Department of Consumer Protection liquor control agents. Undercover, plain-clothed agents observed minors being served alcohol at the bar, and police later raided the bar at 10:30 p.m. Hammer Jaks was charged with 24 counts of sale or delivery of alcoholic liquor to minors, and the case was referred to the Liquor Control Commission for administrative action. Calls to the club were not answered Sunday afternoon, and the voicemail box was full. The number of people found drinking underage at the bar Thursday was small compared to the 2005 raid at Toad’s Place, where 142 underage people were found inside the club.
