Unable to convert on a 3rd and 5, the Crusaders were forced to attempt a 37-yard field goal. Partain hooked it left and failed to force a third OT so the Bulldogs are able to escape the Yale Bowl with a victory after allowing the Crusaders to get back into the game. The final score was 31-28, and the Bulldogs improve to 2-1 on the season. The Crusaders, on the other hand, have to swallow another tough loss and fall to 1-3. Their three losses have been by a combined seven points.

The Bulldogs did allow the Crusaders to come back but simply coming away with a victory against a very good Holy Cross team is great for a team looking to go into next week’s Ivy League game against Dartmouth with some momentum.

Look for my recap in Monday’s edition of the Yale Daily News. So long from the Yale Bowl.
