Following the publication of an article Monday about an investigation into how Yale faculty members handled the controversial senior art project of Aliza Shvarts ’08, the University has disclosed that contrary to what was suggested in the article, Art Director of Undergraduate Studies Henk van Assen was not among two unnamed individuals against whom Yale has taken “appropriate action” for their roles in Shvarts’ project. Shvarts last week identified van Assen as one of two School of Art faculty members whom she said had backed her project, leading to the suggestion in Monday’s article, but a Yale official said Thursday that no action has been taken against him.
