To the Editor:
When renaming Cross Campus Library, the administration should not forget students’ spiritual need for acronyms. As it stands, “CCL” carries momentum through a sentence and nicely mirrors the rhythm of its neighbor and competitor “SML.”
With all due respect to the new “Bass Library,” “BL” just won’t cut it.
If CCL becomes the “Bass Library,” the administration will have another DUH on its hands, and the Bass family will wonder why its support of Yale is spurned by her students.
Before it is too late (why not push back completion a few more weeks?), the administration must reconsider.
I suggest slipping the “B” in between the “C”s and the “L,” to produce CCBL – the Cross Campus Bass Library.
