In Friday’s article “Profs square off over Iraq war,” several of debate participant John Gaddis’ points were misrepresented. He said Saudi Arabia, not Serbia, is an example of an authoritarian American ally. He said Israel is authoritarian only in its treatment of the occupied territories. And he said the Bush administration seeks to resolve the Palestinian issue through the creation of a democratic Palestinian state.
The illustration on the cover of Friday’s scene — of playwright Donald Margulies — omitted the credit. The illustration is by Andrew J. Hamilton.
Last Tuesday’s column, “You say it’s your anniversary, Mr. President,” misstated the year Richard Levin became president of Yale. He took office in 1993.
