Andrew Cedar ’06 said he wants to change the way the Yale College Council receives its money.
As a candidate for treasurer, Cedar said he wants the YCC to receive all its money at the beginning of the year in order to more efficiently effect changes, schedule student activities and distance itself from the administration.
As treasurer, he said he hopes to lessen Yale’s impact on the environment and to extend the party curfew beyond 1 a.m.
Luis Perez
College/Year: Saybrook ’05
Hometown: McAllen, Texas
Major: Sociology, Latin American Studies
Though he has not served on the YCC before, Luis Perez said he has the motivation, energy, drive and resiliency to be successful as treasurer. Perez said that the possibility of the YCC becoming a nonprofit organization, which would make donations tax deductible, will help him gather funds for activities such as the Winter Ball and Spring Fling. If elected, Perez said he plans will meet with the current treasurer to see what he has done to increase YCC’s budget.
