PRINCETON, N.J. (AP) — Spencer Gloger, the leading scorer and rebounder for the Princeton men’s basketball team, has been ruled academically ineligible and is not currently enrolled, the university said last week.

“I’m extremely disappointed for Spencer, but we will move on,” said Princeton head coach John Thompson.

The junior will be eligible to return to Princeton for the spring semester of 2004 and would then be eligible for the remainder of the 2003-2004 season. Gloger said he was disappointed he wouldn’t be able to help his teammates for the rest of the season.

“I’ll be pulling for them,” he said.

Gloger is not the only high profile Ivy League basketball player to be declared academically ineligible recently. Harvard’s Patrick Harvey left his team, and school, two weeks ago for academic reasons.
