New Haven resident Kenneth Moore was arrested yesterday on charges of larceny, identity theft and illegal use of a credit card, Chief State’s Attorney John M. Bailey said in a written statement.
Moore allegedly used a business associate’s date of birth and social security number to obtain credit cards, which he then allegedly used in fraudulent business transactions, according to the arrest warrant affidavit. More than $28,000 in fraudulent transactions were allegedly made by Moore on American Express and MasterCard accounts, including purchases for his business, Security Plus of North Haven.
Bond was set at $75,000. Moore will be arraigned Thursday, April 18, in New Haven Superior Court. If convicted on all counts, Bailey said Moore will face a maximum sentence of 35 years in prison and fines totaling $30,000.
