To the Editor:

It astounds me to find that people can be so ignorant as to believe that Yale is committing a wrong by protecting its drug-using students. Are people going to believe that smoking marijuana and listening to music is worse than drinking cheap gin?

If pot is getting in the way of a person’s goals, then the person is abusing pot and obviously needs advice on how to regulate their usage. But the fact is that a great many students use drugs at Yale, but only a few abuse drugs.

Maybe Yale is moving against the law. But maybe the law is wrong. Maybe the entire ideology of the drug war is wrong, and the greatest university in the world recognizes this fact. God bless Yale.
