The Valentine’s Day issue, which in past years has elicited complaints from offended students, will continue to feature anonymous comments, but contributors must provide their netID to the Herald.

“It’s partly because we want to keep it within the Yale community,” Editor-in-Chief Justin Chen ’03 said, explaining the decision.

“Also, in most online message board formats, users need to submit some personal information — normally an e-mail address — in order to post messages to other users,” Chen added in an e-mail.

Dean of Student Affairs Betty Trachtenberg said she did not make any threats or tell the Herald not to print the issue.
